The Illinois Police Officers Memorial Committee is committed to making our events accessible to everyone. If you require an accommodation or service to fully participate, a request must be sent to the IPOMC Secretary (secretary@ipomc.org) at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Every attempt will be made to meet your needs; however, we cannot guarantee that all needs can be met.
The IPOMC is committed to honoring police officers killed in the line of duty, and their Family Survivors, at the annual Memorial Service. We strongly recommend that those with special needs use the off-site parking located at the Northfield Inn, Sangamon Ave and Dirksen Pkwy. We will provide tour busses, including one that is handicapped accessible. The busses will have priority parking at all sites. We provide a golf cart at the Capitol for those that may not be able to walk comfortably from the street to the statue. Anyone using crutches, walkers or wheelchairs can request to have a member of the Honor Guard assigned to them. The assignment of the Honor Guard will begin upon their arrival at the church service. The Honor Guard will ensure seating and that needs are met, to the best of our ability.
